Week Beginning 7th December 2020 (Please go to your Seesaw account)
Last week in our Physical Development sessions, at school, we practiced our sweeping skills. This week I would like you to continue with these skills by practicing at home. Can you ask your grown-up to take a photo and put it on Seesaw.
Sweeping encourages your child to explore area and perimeter and develop language to describe position, location and movement. Physically it is helping your child build their hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
Make a game of sweeping by...
Step 1: Make a goal by placing some tape on the floor in the shape of a square.
Step 2: Give your child a broom and have them sweep, crumbs or whatever you have, we used rice and dried beans in the classroom as that is what we had, into the square to score.
Step 3: Use a dustpan and brush encourage your child to sweep up the crumbs.
Week Beginning 30th November 2020 (Please go to your Seesaw account)
This week I would like you to have ago at helping a grown-up peg out the washing. Use the pegs. This will help develop your fine motor skills by making the muscle in your hand stronger. Can you ask a grown-up to take a photo and put it on Seesaw.
