Year 4 - Burwell House Residential 2025
Day 1
Robin Class have arrived safely to Burwell House and are thoroughly embracing and enjoying all of their experiences. The children have enjoyed getting to know the outdoor area by playing orienteering games and using maps with symbols to find different clues for their hunt! They have demonstrated great team work during our 'Snail Game' too. Robins were totally engaged during our TV Studio introduction so we are very excited for tomorrow! After making our beds (which was quite amusing to watch!), the children have eaten their evening meal and think the food is 'amazing'! We have had a fantastic first day getting settled.

Day 2
Though a little tired, the children have had a brilliant, but busy day taking part in the TV Studio experience. They had a go at being part of the filming crew: directing, producing and dealing with ICT, as well as performing and being the TV presentor of a news broadcast. The children worked really hard and both groups completed their filming in just one take! It was amazing - they were so focused and should be proud of what they produced. After another delicious meal, we completed teamwork exercises on the low ropes course. A little water over their heads helped them keep cool between activities. They were also fully engaged during Batik bag making - they designed and made their bags with great enthusiasm and creativity. They can't wait to show you! We've had a super day. One more sleep, and we'll be home.

Day 3
Wow! A fabulous final day. The children woke and completed their chores of packing their bags and stripping their beds! We had a delicious cooked breakfast before our activities began. The children had a go at being 'Nature Detectives', hunting the grounds for signs of nature and looking up what different animals eat. They also enjoyed pond dipping and identified different critters within this habitat. It was very exciting to see leeches and beetles! Lastly, we played a fantastic game called Burwell Fox and the children had to act stealthy and come up with a cunning plan to sneak away from the farmers to answer their questions!
It has been a pleasure to take the children away. It seems they have all grown a few inches in confidence and maturity alone! We thank you, parents, for making this residential possible for the children to enjoy together.
