Stretham Community Primary School

School Council

The school has an active School Council, with elected representatives from every year group. Each year group votes for two representatives.  The school councillors host regular meetings in their classes where all children have the opportunity to discuss issues or school development opportunities.

When the School Council meets, the councillors put forward the views of their class and come to decisions along with other members from the other classes. The School Council meets regularly to discuss pupils’ views on whole school issues such as playtime activities and school uniform. Issues are then discussed in Class Councils and any major proposals are put to a whole school vote.
